Dear Sister Writers;

WELCOME to a Community of women of Color dedicated to increasing the scope, volume and the quality of publications by women of color both locally and globally.

In her anthology, Breaking Ice, Terry McMillan states “...As a child, I didn't know that African-American people wrote books. ...the only books I came across were the Bible and required reading for school.”

Like McMillan, we are offended by the paucity of published works by women of color and I wonder how much richer our lives would have been if only we had been exposed to the many diverse voices of women writers.
But we can change that can’t we? Please join us - become a part of the Women of Color Writers Community. Were we engage a collective of women writers from all over the world. Sharpen your pencils and get down to the business of making our literary presence known. The world is waiting for us, so let’s get busy. Looking forward to hearing from all of you. Look our for our upcoming Anthology “Boundaries & Borders” SORRY SUBMISSIONS ARE CLOSED

1.   Everyone has a strong, unique voice.
2.  Everyone is born with creative genius.
3. Writing as an art form belongs to all people, regardless of economic class or educational level.
4. The teaching of craft can be done without damage to a writer's original voice or artistic self-esteem.
5. A writer is someone who writes. AWA Founder; PAT SCHNEIDER
